Our primarily goal is to provide children in our care with education so that they can achieve their dreams. In order to achieve this these children must live in a stable and supportive environment and have access to schools fees and supplies. So the home is a means to an end – education and empowerment!

It was founded in March 2009-09-29

It is located about a 2 ½ hour drive NW of Nairobi and 15 minutes from Nakuru, a major Kenyan city.

Currently we have 30 children – this number continues to grow as we take in new children referred to us.

Anywhere from two to 17 years old.

The primary language in Kenya is English, although most young children speak primarily Swahili and learn English once they start school.

All children are referred to Nyota through Nakuru Children’s Services, so that we know that the children are the most in need and are without families who can care for them.

Disease is the primary reason that these children have lost their parents. In some cases the reason is tragic accidents and for a few children their mother is suffering extreme illness and can no longer care for them.
